Applying a college student’s perspective to a higher education nonprofit’s in-house marketing team.
Look at what they’re doing and do it better
The main project of my internship was a Social Media Competitive Analysis Project. I worked on this between creating Google Ads campaigns, writing copy for emails and social posts promoting the blog (which I touch on below), and developing a list of keywords to add to InsideTrack’s website pages. This project allowed me to teach myself how to look closely at all aspects of copy, design, and publication of social media posts to give insights and suggestions to the marking team, as my internship came to a close. Copywriting across platforms
After working closely with Senior Copywriter Todd Duval and Strategic Content Marketing Manager Erin Hampton during my summer internship, I transitioned into a freelance copywriter role during my senior year. My central responsibilities of analyzing and synthesizing Todd’s weekly blog and adapting the content into promotional email and social copy carried over. The system we developed simplifies the editing process and allows me to easily assist Todd and Erin in a week, while staying on top of my schoolwork and below my breaking point. Here are some of my favorite examples from LinkedIn, Twitter, email, and Facebook.
